How do I go about buying cabinets from TLC Kitchen Cabinets?Our process is simple. 1) Send us your list of cabinets for a price quote. 2) When you have reviewed the quote detail and are satisfied the quote matches your cabinet needs, we recommend visiting one of the J&K Cabinetry showrooms to see the cabinets in person to confirm the quality and color. 3) To place the order call us with your credit card info to make a payment. 90% of our orders are processed via email or phone. 4) When the cabinets are ready, you will pick them up at the local showroom or get them delivered for a fee.

Can I get a door in a different color?What you see on the website is what we have. Doors and colors can not be interchanged. Example.The K8 Espresso cabinet is only available in that color and that door style.

Where can I see cabinets in person?TLC Kitchen Cabinets is an Authorized Dealer of J&K Cabinetry. J&K has showrooms nationwide. Please go to the "Store Locations" page to find the nearest showroom.

Do you charge sales tax?Sales tax rates are based on the showroom pickup location. Sales tax amount and tax rate will be indicated on the quote and invoice.

How long does it take for cabinets to be assembled?Once the order is placed, timing depend on location. Most J&K locations are 7-10 days for will call pickup of ASSEMBLED cabinets. Chicago has a will call time of 3-5 days. You can also pick up cabinets in the box RTB (Ready To Build). Unassembled cabinets can be ready for pickup in 1-5 days if you need your cabinets faster & have the proper tools to assemble the cabinets yourself. (Please see Next Question for more details.)

Are these cabinets RTA?J&K Cabinets are considered RTB “Ready To Build” because they require special tools. The cabinets come in kits that we assemble with corner staples, brad nails, and wood glue. See our assembly vid eos to get a better idea of how our cabinets are assembled.

How tall/deep are the base cabinets?Standard base kitchen cabinet height is 34.5" tall x 24" deep. This ensures that the finished height of the cabinetry with countertops will be 36". Wall cabinet come in 30”, 36”, 42” x 12” deep. Bridge cabinets for over the refrigerator and stove come in 12”, 15”, 18”, and 21” tall and are available in 12" and 2 7" deep. (Can be cut to 24" deep for a fee.) Our pantry and double oven cabinets come in 84”, 90”, and 96” tall x 27" deep. (Can be cut to 24" deep for a fee.)

How tall/deep are the bathroom vanity cabinets?Vanity height in this cabinet line is 33" tall and 21" deep.

Are the sides of the cabinets finished?All cabinet come with factory finished sides to match the cabinet color.

What color are the insides of the cabinets?The interior of the cabinets are finished blond color. Glass door cabinets come with matching interior and exterior color.

Do you offer glass door cabinets?We offer wall cabinetry that is prepped for glass (routed for a glass door, with a matching finished interior). Glass doors and glass shelves are sold separately. We only carry beveled edge clear glass inserts. Frosted glass or etched glass would be the customer’s responsibility.

How do I pay?TLC Kitchen Cabinets accept VISA / MASTERCARD / DISCOVER / AMERICAN EXPRESS and PayPal. When you are ready to order just give us a call and we will convert your Quote into an Invoice and take your credit card information over the phone. J&K Cabinetry does not accept orders or payments at the showroom.

Do you offer a farm sink base?We do not have a specific cabinet available to order for an apron/farm sink. You may however use a W361827 . We can cut the sides down to make the overall cabinet depth 24" for a fee, and your installer would use wall fillers to trim out your sink. This is slightly more work however it offers a much more custom kitchen look at an affordable price. Ask and we will explain how.

Do you offer a microwave base cabinets?We do not have a specific cabinet available to order for microwave base cabinets. You may however customize a 30” drawer base cabinet by removing the top 2 drawers and framing the face with fillers to create a built-in microwave. As seen in the photo here. We do offer a 27” wide wall microwave cabinet and a space saver microwave would mount under any bridge cabinet.

Are cabinet modifcations available?27” deep refrigerator, oven, and pantry cabinets can but cut to 24” for a fee. Fees are determined by showroom location. Any other Cabinetry size modifications are not available but we can walk you through available options for your installer to customize our cabinets. Example. You can use 12” deep wall cabinets on the back of your island to give a 36” deep island. Your installer would just create a 2x4 base for the cabinets to rest on to match a base cabinet toe kick. Then cover the base with a TK8 toe kick or BM10-4 ½ molding.

Do you offer countertops, sinks, or cabinet install?"We do not offer countertops, sinks, or cabinet install. We just sell the cabinets.

Do you offer a warranty on this cabinetry?All J&K cabinetry has a 1 year warranty on materials and workmanship. This warranty does not extend to defects caused by improper handling, storage, installation, assembly or disassembly, damage, product modifications, exposure to the elements, misuse, abuse, or negligence. Can the cabinetry be delivered to my home?Most J&K locations offer curbside or garage delivery for a fee. Under no circumstance will we deliver cabinetry into a house due to liability reasons. Delivery averages 1-3 weeks and is dependent on location and current order backlog.

Are the cabinet sides plywood or particle board?All cabinetry comes standard with 7 ply 1/2" Cabinet grade plywood sides. Shelves are also plywood to insure that no particleboard is used.

What drawer glides are used?Our standard drawer glides are full extension, under mount, and soft close. These glides make the drawers easy to remove for cleaning purposes, allow full access to drawer space, and are highly durable. Currently there are 2 styles of drawer slides out in the market installed in J&K cabinets.

Are the door hinges soft close also?All door hinges are 6-way adjustable concealed soft close hinges.

Are the cabinet doors solid wood?All cabinet doors are solid maple. Door frames and center panels are solid wood with reverse raised panel designs on all recessed panels. All J&K cabinets have full overlay doors so only about 1/8-1/4” of the frame is visible.

How much money is due up front to order my cabinetry?Due to the size of the discounts offered, we do not offer payment plans. 100% is due upon order placement.

Can I return cabinets and extra accessories?Officially - All cabinetry is considered special order and assembled at time of order. Returns are NOT allowed. After payment is received, production of your cabinetry begins, and we may be unable to be stopped or change the order. Please make sure to double check your order before placing it to avoid any issues. That being said, TLC Kitchen Cabinets strives to provide the best service available and will work on your behalf with the manufacturer to correct any issue and work to resolve any problem. In most cases we can get approval to exchange a few undamaged cabinets with a 25% restock fee. Accessory items can be returned without a restock fee as long as they are in new, sellable condition. If a cabinet has been installed, has screw holes, or door has holes for handles, damaged, the cabinet is NOT returnable. We can only help with return if cabinets that are in new, sellable condition.

When will I receive a delivery date after ordering?If you request delivery, we will get an estimated delivery date before charging your credit card. As the date gets closer we can confirm the date. Delivery times are not known until the morning of delivery. TLC Kitchen Cabinets will provide you with the local representative's contact information so you can get a delivery time window that morning. This way you are not waiting all day. TLC will also request the delivery company to call you before heading to your location.

What if I forgot something while installing?No worries! Accessory items like Crown Molding, Trim, and Fillers are available for pickup within 24 hours. However, your order must be processed through TLC Kitchen Cabinets before you will be able to pick anything up at one of our showrooms nationwide. You can not purchase at the showroom.

How to Make a Kitchen Layout Design
Kitchen measurements are very important.
We suggest you start your planning with the sink base cabinet. Most customers will want the kitchen sink centered with the window.
The stove, oven, and refrigerator will most likely also have designated locations due to gas and water line placement.
1. As in diagram #1, we need to determine the center of the window by measuring from the corner wall to the edge of window trim, corner to the middle of the window, and corner to the far side of the window trim. This will allow us to center the kitchen sink in the window and determine the available wall space for the wall cabinets.
2. We need the maximum usable length of wall and where you want the cabinets to stop on that wall.
3. Make a simple drawing of the layout you want, like in diagram #2.
Identify special cabinets you want on your layout: garbage can cabinet, drawer base, pull out trays, spice rack, wine rack, glass door cabinets, etc.
There is a cabinet spec catalog and a price list below you can download with cabinet sizes and images to help you plan your kitchen layout.
4. Always include on your diagram:
Cabinet Styles (we can price out several cabinet styles on the same quote for you to compare)
Crown Molding or Under Cabinet Light Molding (if you want either or both)
Your Address (for local showroom and sales tax purposes)
Pick Up or Delivery (which option you want) Please note we can only ship un-assembled cabinets. Will Call pickup is our preferred method.
